Der erste Track "NoseBleed" rockt mit satten 160bpm in einem ueberschwenglichen Technosound voller Kleinstgeklimper, "Pneumonic" zittert in trockenen Sounds in aehnlicher Geschwindigkeit mit staendig bedrohtem Rhythmus flackernder Euphorie, die etwas ziellos davonsegelt und dann langsam einen eigenwilligen Groove entwickelt. (Auf der Webseite gibt es einen Akira Rabelais Remix des Tracks). Die Rueckseite beginnt mit einem etwas ausgehoehlten hymnischen Track der ein wenig daran erinnert, dass Kent, von dem die Tracks alle stammen, irgendwie aus einem Off heraus zu produzieren scheint, das einer gewissen Art von Sequentialitaet verpflichtet ist, die man auch u.a. bei Philippe Cam findet, aber dazu dann auch gerne mal soetwas wie ein Gitarrensolo legt. Als Abschluss ein Breakiger Track der im gleichen trocken kurzhalligen Sound gehalten ist, der die EP ein wenig sproede wirken laesst. link to LapCore Vol. 1 link to review at De:Bug

The first track "NoseBleed" rocks with a whopping 160bpm exuberant techno sound full of tiny jingles, whereas "Pneumonic" trembles in dry sounds at a similar speed with a constantly threatening rhythm of flickering euphoria which somehow sails away aimlessly and then slowly develops into an idiosyncratic groove. (There is an Akira Rabelais remix of the track on the website). The back side of the record begins with a somewhat hollowed out anthem-like track that reminds you a bit that Kent, who wrote all the tracks, somehow seems to produce from an sensibility which is committed to a certain kind of sequentiality, similar to Philippe Cam, among others, but not afraid to add something like a guitar solo. Kent Clelland aka LapCore pousse les extrêmes hors des frontières, explorant sans relâche la matrice du son, disséquant leurs entrailles à coups de logiciels-scalpels.
Avec Fear_of_D[istraction] il nous immerge dans une matière grise, où IA et IDM jouent à la balançoire à coups de glitchs et de rondeurs dubby.
Le chaos prend des formes kaléidoscopiques se dilatant au contact d’énergies parasites, tensions élastiques d’un cerveau gagné par des métastases en mode épileptique.
LapCore ausculte les vrombissements de basses dansant sur des parterres de noise à la douceur enivrante, bande-son pour aquarium aux vitrines éclatées dans les viscères d’expérimentations dadaïstes. Très fortement recommandé.
